Paint Protection Film (PPF) in Seattle — Tukwila Studio
Wraptik installs paint protection film (PPF) — also called clear bra — at our studio at 958 Industry Dr in Tukwila, just south of Seattle and a few minutes from the I-5 / I-405 interchange. The clear film takes the rock chips, scratches and bug marks, so your factory paint doesn’t. We are open every day from 9 AM to 9 PM.
Why Seattle-area drivers protect the front end
Most Seattle commutes run on I-5, I-405 and SR 167, where gravel trucks and road work throw stones at highway speed. One stone is enough to chip the clear coat on a hood or bumper, and a chip that reaches bare metal can start to rust in our wet weather.
In winter, road crews spread sand for traction on Snoqualmie and Stevens passes, so a ski trip or a drive over the mountains sends grit straight at the front of the car. Summer drives to the coast and the Cascades bring the opposite problem: bugs that bake onto the paint and etch the clear coat if they are left on.
Film can’t undo damage that is already there, so many drivers book PPF right after they pick up a new car — before the first commute leaves its marks.
PPF packages and prices in Tukwila
- Front End — from $1,495. Bumper, hood and front fenders: the panels freeway gravel reaches first.
- Front End+ — from $1,795. Adds the headlights and side mirrors, which pit quickly on I-5.
- Full Body — from $4,999. Every painted panel, doors and rocker panels included.
- Windshield add-on — from $250. Film on the glass for the stones that crack windshields.
These are starting numbers. Size and film change the final figure, and we confirm it after we see the car. Half the price reserves your install day; the balance is due at pickup. Torn between packages? The 1-minute quiz picks one for you.

From helicopter blades to your bumper
PPF wasn’t invented for cars. It started during the Vietnam War as “helicopter tape” — a clear urethane film that kept sand and gravel from wearing away the rotor blades of U.S. military helicopters. The name clear bra came later, from the black vinyl covers drivers strapped to their bumpers before clear film existed. Read the full story of PPF.
Questions about PPF in Seattle
How much does PPF cost in Seattle?
At our Tukwila studio, front-end PPF (bumper, hood and front fenders) starts at $1,495. Front End+ with headlights and mirrors starts at $1,795, and full body starts at $4,999. Windshield protection is an add-on from $250.
Where can I get PPF near Seattle?
Wraptik is at 958 Industry Dr, Tukwila, WA 98188, a few minutes from the I-5 / I-405 interchange. We are open every day from 9 AM to 9 PM.
Is PPF the same as a clear bra?
Yes — two names for one product. Clear bra is the older term, borrowed from the black vinyl front covers that came before clear film. PPF is what installers call it today.
Will PPF stop rock chips from the freeway?
Yes. Stones hit the film instead of the paint. Film doesn’t repair chips that are already there — it seals them as they are — so it works best on new or freshly corrected paint.
